I was somewhat skeptical about the success of LASIK surgery, but after having
underwent the surgery in October, I would highly recommend the procedure.
For someone who has been forced with living with the day-to-day rigors of glasses and contact lenses, LASIK surgery is like being reborn with 20/20 vision or vision very close to that. No more putting contact lenses in and out of your eyes. No more worrying about staying up late at night, wondering if you have been wearing your contact lenses for too long. You can go to bed falling asleep watching television, without being uncomfortable with your glasses on. And when you wake up in the morning you don't have to reach for your glasses and squint to see the clock radio."
"The procedure itself is very simple. From start to finish it takes about 10 minutes. Best of all the procedure is basically painless...Before the surgery, one of the technicians asked me to look at the clock on the wall and tell her what time it was. The clock was only ten or fifteen feet away, but I couldn't tell at all. Ten minutes later, after the surgery was over, I sat up in the chair and was asked the same question. I had been wearing glasses since I was five years old, contact lenses (both hard and soft), for the past twenty years. I had researched corrective surgery in its various forms for over eight years. LASIK was the first procedure I felt comfortable enough to actually proceed with. I had surgery done on February 19th. What a change in my life it has made! I went from having a hard time seeing where I put my glasses to seeing 20/20 the next day. The procedure itself was painless, the recovery immediate, and the results fantastic. I went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming one month after the procedure. The improvement in my vision really became apparent on that trip.
